Jury Finds For Mattel In Board Game Ad Dispute

Law360, Los Angeles (June 22, 2011, 9:15 PM EDT) -- A California state court jury on Monday found toy giant Mattel Inc. abided by a licensing contract when it spent nearly $2 million to advertise the board game Outburst: The Game of Verbal Explosions.

The verdict hands a decisive victory to Mattel in a lawsuit that accused the company of cheating game licensor Hersch & Co. by reneging on a commitment to advertise the 25-year-old game.
