ATP Sues For DOI Action On Drilling Permits

Law360, New York (June 23, 2011, 5:17 PM EDT) -- ATP Oil & Gas Corp. hit the U.S. Department of the Interior with a suit Thursday seeking to end what it called the agency’s unreasonable delays in permitting four deepwater drilling projects off the coast of Louisiana.

ATP claims the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement is violating the Administrative Procedure Act and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act by stonewalling the company on its applications for permits to drill in the Gulf of Mexico.
