Judge Tosses Icahn's $100M Suit Against Raynor

Law360, New York (June 24, 2011, 4:03 PM EDT) -- A New York state judge on Thursday dismissed Carl Icahn's $100 million libel and contract suit against Geoffrey Raynor over an agreement to invest in auto parts manufacturer Federal-Mogul Corp., ending one of several related suits between the feuding financiers.

Icahn's lawsuit was filed in response to a January 2010 suit by Raynor's Nineteen Eighty-Nine LLC accusing investment firm Icahn Enterprises LP of overstating the amount of Federal-Mogul stock it owned in order to sweeten its position in a $2 billion debt offering, and therefore its...
