Biotech Upstart Sues Boston Scientific Over Patent, Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (November 11, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- California upstart biotech company Applied Hydrogel Technology has sued medical device maker Boston Scientific and several other defendants for alleged patent infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets.

Applied Hydrogel Technology and Dr. Lih-Bin Shih filed the complaint last Thursday, naming Medluminal Systems Inc. and Boston Scientific among other defendants and alleging that some of Medluminal's products infringe an Applied Hydrogel patent.

The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and seeks monetary and injunctive relief.
