Altera Sues LSI, Agere Over 12 Computer Patents

Law360, Los Angeles (June 28, 2011, 9:21 PM EDT) -- Programmable logic device maker Altera Corp. on Tuesday filed a lawsuit in California federal court accusing LSI Corp. and Agere Systems Inc. of violating 12 patents that cover data storage devices, controllers and other computer parts.

Altera claims that more than 40 of LSI and Agere's products infringe its patents. The San Jose-based company seeks an injunction blocking the companies from manufacturing, marketing and selling the infringing devices.
