Senate Elevates Cole, 2 Others To Top DOJ Posts

Law360, New York (June 28, 2011, 4:54 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Tuesday approved three nominees for top U.S. Department of Justice posts, including former Bryan Cave LLP white collar defense partner James Cole's nomination for deputy attorney general, which had faced stiff opposition from Senate Republicans.

The nomination of Cole, who has been serving as deputy attorney general since a recess appointment in December 2010, was sent to the full Senate for a second time in March and was approved by a mostly partisan 55-42 vote on Tuesday.
