Chrysler Can't Block 'Imported From Detroit' Use

Law360, New York (June 28, 2011, 9:37 PM EDT) -- A Michigan federal judge on Tuesday denied Chrysler Group LLC's request to stop retailer Pure Detroit from selling shirts and bags emblazoned with the carmaker's tagline "Imported from Detroit," which premiered in a two-minute Super Bowl commercial featuring rapper Eminem.

U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Tarnow refused to grant a preliminary injunction against Moda Group LLC, which does business as Pure Detroit, because Chrysler had failed to show how it would suffer irreparable harm without an injunction. He also said the automaker was unlikely to succeed...
