Subcontractor Sues Bond Insurers For Unpaid Work

Law360, New York (June 29, 2011, 3:12 PM EDT) -- A subcontractor on a federal project to construct military training barracks in Missouri sued Federal Insurance Co. and two other bond insurers Wednesday, seeking nearly $2 million for its allegedly uncompensated heating, cooling and ventilation work at the site.

Subcontractor Metro Air Conditioning Co. alleges that the project's contractor — Watts-Weitz Joint Venture — has failed to fully compensate Metro for its work, and that defendants Federal, Fidelity and Deposit Co. of Maryland and Zurich American Insurance Co. should have to pay the remaining $1.8 million...
