Legislation To Fund State Health Courts Introduced

Law360 (May 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bipartisan legislation was introduced Thursday in both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives that would grant states funding to create specialized health courts as pilot projects.

The Fair and Reliable Medical Justice Act bills, introduced in the Senate by Sens. Michael Enzi (R-Wyo.) and Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and in the House by Reps. Jim Cooper (D-Tenn.) and Mac Thornberry (R-Texas), would allow the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to award up to 10 demonstration grants to states for the development, implementation and evaluation...
