Genesco Settles EEOC Sexual Harassment Action

Law360, New York (June 30, 2011, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Footwear retailer Genesco Inc. on Thursday settled a sexual harassment class action brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in New Mexico, agreeing to adopt a sexual harassment policy.

“Defendant shall institute and carry out policies and practices that will provide a work environment free from sex discrimination and retaliation,” the two sides said in a consent decree approved by U.S. District Judge William P. Johnson.
