L-3 Loses Bid Protest Over $252M NRC Contract

Law360, New York (July 1, 2011, 3:28 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office announced Friday it had denied L-3 Services Inc.’s protest of a contract worth more than $250 million for information technology work at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, saying a rival company’s bid was more detailed.

The GAO upheld the NRC source selection official’s decision to award the contract to Perot Systems Government Services Inc. based on its $252 million bid over L-3’s $219 bid, ruling that Perot offered a clearer timeline for implementing an unspecified network infrastructure plan.
