Apple Seeks Injunction Against Samsung In Patent Row

Law360, New York (July 1, 2011, 9:02 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. on Friday asked a California federal judge to issue an injunction blocking Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. from marketing smartphones and tablets that allegedly infringe design patents that cover the iPhone and iPad.

“It is hard to imagine a more compelling case for issuing a preliminary injunction. Samsung’s copying is blatant,” Apple said in its brief, which escalates the ongoing intellectual property litigation between the two electronics giants.
