C&S, Supervalu Antitrust Suit Sent To Arbitration

Law360, New York (July 5, 2011, 7:44 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Minnesota on Tuesday dismissed antitrust claims in a multidistrict litigation by grocery stores against C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. and Supervalu Inc., ruling the dispute must go to arbitration under the parties' terms of agreements.

The suit claims C&S and Supervalu engaged in a conspiracy to inflate prices when they entered an agreement under which C&S swapped its operations in the Midwest for Supervalu's operations in New England.
