Technicians' FLSA Case Survives Unitek Dismissal Bid

Law360, New York (July 6, 2011, 8:30 PM EDT) -- A Maryland federal judge on Wednesday left intact most of a putative class and collective action brought against UniTek Global Services Inc. by satellite TV technicians who claim they weren't paid overtime wages.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Chasanow issued a memorandum opinion and order that partially granted and partially denied a dismissal bid from defendants UniTek Global, Unitek USA LLC and Unitek USA sudsidiary DirectSat USA LLC that sought to have the plaintiffs' four-count complaint dismissed with prejudice.
