Nokia Exits ITC Case Over Apple Smartphone IP

Law360, San Diego (July 7, 2011, 5:08 PM EDT) -- Nokia Corp. on Tuesday was terminated from the U.S. International Trade Commission’s investigation into whether wireless communications technology sold and imported by Nokia and HTC Corp. infringed Apple Inc.’s smartphone patents.

Administrative Law Judge Carl Charneski issued an initial determination granting a motion by Apple and respondents Nokia Corp. and Nokia Inc. to end their dispute after they entered into settlement and patent license agreements in June.

“This motion comports with commission rules and is in the interest of public policy,” Judge Charneski wrote.
