Ex-Sedgwick Adjuster Can’t Beat Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (July 8, 2011, 3:30 PM EDT) -- A former claims adjuster for Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. failed Wednesday to persuade a Texas federal judge to throw out a lawsuit accusing her of violating her employment contract by lifting trade secrets before leaving the company.

Kimberley Soukup argued that the federal court should abstain from ruling on the dispute because her ex-employer only filed the complaint to obstruct a lawsuit that she brought against the company in Harris County, Texas, court.
