WTC Leaseholders Call To Stay Punitive Damages

Law360, New York (May 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of World Trade Center leaseholders has called on a court to stay claims for punitive damages against airlines in the long-running September 11 litigation, arguing compensation was a priority over punishment.

In a motion filed Friday in the Manhattan district court, the cross-claim plaintiffs called for an order to sever and stay any claims for punitive damages against the aviation defendants until all claims for compensatory damages have been dealt with first.
