7th Circ. Rules Blagojevich's Casino Fee Is A Tax

Law360, New York (July 8, 2011, 10:29 PM EDT) -- The Seventh Circuit ruled Friday that an Illinois statute signed by ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich funneling a percentage of riverboat casino profits to race tracks was not a fee but a tax that could not be enjoined by federal courts.
