Ford Not Liable For SUV Crash: 11th Circ.

Law360, New York (July 11, 2011, 4:05 PM EDT) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Monday affirmed a win for Ford Motor Co. in a product liability suit brought by a driver who was paralyzed when her vehicle rolled over during an accident. 

The appeals court said that a lower court correctly ruled Ford was not liable for failure to warn, strict liability and negligence arising from the allegedly defective design of the 1996 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle, saying that the vehicle performed relatively well in safety tests.
