8th Circ. Upholds Health Agency Officer's Firing

Law360, New York (July 11, 2011, 4:47 PM EDT) -- The Eighth Circuit said Monday that Iowa home health agency Universal Pediatric Services Inc. did not wrongly fire a high-ranking compliance officer who alleged that her refusal to submit a false Medicaid claim caused her termination.

The appeals panel ruled that the wrongful termination claim from a former vice president at UPSI, Julie Mahony, was flawed because a false reimbursement was never submitted.
