Judge Won't Rehear Rejected Vitro Ch. 11 Petitions

Law360, New York (July 12, 2011, 7:43 PM EDT) -- A Texas bankruptcy judge refused Friday to reconsider involuntary Chapter 11 petitions against ex-Vitro SAB de CV affiliates that the court denied in April.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Harlin D. Hale refused to amend two rulings in the jointly administered cases, saying his colleague Judge Russell F. Nelms made “no manifest error of law” in rejecting the petitions.

The affiliates entered voluntary Chapter 11 following the involuntary petitions and then sold their assets to a Sun Capital Partners Inc. affiliate for $55 million before winning dismissal of...
