Naturade Protein Powders Contain Lead: Suit

Law360, New York (July 13, 2011, 3:00 PM EDT) -- A public interest group filed suit Friday in California state court against the maker of the Naturade brand of protein powders, accusing it of selling products that contain hazardous lead and lead products.

Environmental Research Center filed the suit under Proposition 65, California's law protecting the public against exposure to toxic substances, alleging herbal products maker NNC LLC has been selling the lead-containing products since at least October 2009. It seeks injunctive relief and civil penalties.
