Ind. Targets Construction Co. In Faulty Bridge Suit

Law360, New York (July 13, 2011, 2:50 PM EDT) -- More than a year after the Indiana Department of Transportation closed an Indianapolis bridge over safety concerns, the agency sued the bridge's builder in state court Wednesday for breach of contract, seeking to force the company to pay for reconstruction costs.

INDOT claims that Superior Construction Co. Inc. violated its contract by using defective construction techniques, defective concrete in the bridge's support beams and an overall defective design when it built the bridge in 2004.
