Oracle, SAP Say Settlement Unlikely In $1.3B IP Fight

Law360, New York (July 13, 2011, 9:03 PM EDT) -- Attorneys for SAP AG and Oracle Corp. told a California federal judge on Wednesday that a settlement between the two companies was unlikely in their intellectual property dispute that led to a $1.3 billion jury verdict for Oracle in November.

At a hearing on SAP's motions for judgment as a matter of law and for a retrial, attorneys for the companies told U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton that no mediation or settlement conferences had taken place since the trial and that an agreement seemed unlikely,...
