Senate Bill Stresses Job Creation In Contract Awards

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 7:34 PM EDT) -- Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., introduced legislation Thursday that would allow the federal government to consider job creation when awarding contracts, as well as a bill to prevent U.S. companies from avoiding taxes and moving jobs overseas.

Rockefeller characterized both bills as efforts to increase jobs in his home state and around the country.

“These bills help American workers and businesses thrive by encouraging hiring Americans, getting rid of absurd corporate tax loopholes that disadvantage American companies and discouraging foreign outsourcing,” he said.
