Stanford Receiver Seeks $1.5M From Broker-Dealer Exec

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 7:47 PM EDT) -- The receiver tasked with recovering money for victims of accused $7 billion Ponzi schemer Robert Allen Stanford filed suit Tuesday in Texas against the former chief financial officer of Stanford Group Co., seeking to recover $1.5 million in allegedly ill-gotten proceeds.

Juan Alberto Rincon served as CFO of SGC, Stanford's broker-dealer unit, from 1996 to 2007 and continued to consult for the company thereafter, helping it expand into South America, receiver Ralph S. Janvey contends.
