Spitzer's Panel To Keep Big Money In The Big Apple

Law360 (May 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Heading off any threat from London to steal New York's title as the world's financial capital, Governor Eliot Spitzer has set up a task force of experts to revamp a fragmented regulatory framework governing the industry.

Signing an executive order to create the special commission Tuesday, Spitzer, who once fought the excesses of Wall Street as the state's attorney general, said the panel would review the regulatory hurdles beginning to discourage business in New York.
