General Dynamics Looks To Duck DataTern Patent Suit

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 8:02 PM EDT) -- General Dynamics Corp. asked a Texas federal court Thursday to dismiss a patent suit brought by DataTern Inc. regarding relational database technology, contending that Microsoft Corp., which sold software to the defense contractor, was a better target.

In its bid to leave the suit that targeted 11 corporate giants, General Dynamics calls DataTern's allegations vague and says that the complaint never actually named a product or service that infringed on the patent for database technology.
