Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 5:19 PM EDT) -- The Michael Waltrip Racing NASCAR team sued its former vehicle design director on Friday in North Carolina federal court, alleging that his departure for a British Formula One racing team breached his employment contract and constituted unfair competition.
According to the suit, Mike Coughlan signed a two-year contract to be Waltrip Racing's vehicle designer in October, but quit in May to join Williams Grand Prix Engineering Ltd., which is also named as a defendant.
