Exxon, Ford, Others Sued Over Chicago Superfund Site

Law360, New York (July 18, 2011, 1:25 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government on Friday sued ExxonMobil Oil Corp., Ford Motor Co., DuPont & Co. and others, seeking response costs over an abandoned hazardous waste disposal and drum recycling site in Chicago.

The complaint argues that each of the defendants — or one of their divisions or corporate predecessors — arranged for the disposal or treatment of hazardous substances, or the transport of such materials, to the U.S. Scrap site.
