Microsoft Destroyed Evidence In Patent Suit, Software Vendor Alleges

Law360, New York (November 17, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Microsoft Corp. routinely destroyed internal e-mails that could be used as evidence in a patent-infringement and antitrust lawsuit against the software giant, a small Silicon Valley vendor has charged in pretrial proceedings.

In a court filing unsealed late Monday, Burst.com Inc. alleges that Microsoft routinely destroyed much of its internal e-mail when it was under court orders to preserve such communications, the Wall Street Journal reported.
