Beauty Pageant Co. Sues Rival For Infringing Event Name

Law360, Los Angeles (July 19, 2011, 7:33 PM EDT) -- Beauty pageant company International Pageants Inc. struck rival Galaxy Pageants Inc. with a trademark infringement suit in Virginia federal court Friday to prevent Galaxy from using “international” in its pageant event names.

The suit comes less than a week before International Pageants is scheduled to host its Mrs. International Pageant in a Chicago-area performing arts center and three weeks before Galaxy is scheduled to run another pageant at the same convention center
