Ex-ArthroCare Exec Mostly Ducks $2.1M SEC Judgment

Law360, New York (July 20, 2011, 12:15 PM EDT) -- A former ArthroCare Corp. executive agreed Monday in Texas to a $2.1 million judgment against him, most of which was waived, to settle U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission claims that he fraudulently inflated income projections at the medical device company.

Ex-ArthroCare strategic vice president John Raffle agreed to the final judgment — which did not include a civil penalty — after his ex-wife Kathy, a relief defendant, agreed to disgorge $200,000 on July 11 and his former colleague David Applegate agreed to pay more than $728,000...
