Catalyst Sues Life Technologies Over DNA Sequencing IP
According to the complaint, Joseph Sorge was the first scientist to recognize that certain nucleotides had previously unappreciated uses in biochemical reactions, and he obtained a patent on his invention in 1999 and assigned it to Catalyst. The suit claims that Life Technologies' Solid System uses Sorge's invention and seeks unspecified damages.
