Court Tosses Verdict In Gateway Execs Case

Law360 (June 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A district court has tossed a jury verdict reached in a fraud case against two former executives of computer maker Gateway Inc., ruling that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission failed to prove fraudulent intent.

The decision, handed down on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, overturns an earlier verdict reached against former Gateway Controller Robert D. Manza in the same case and former Chief Financial Officer John J. Todd.
