SEC Sues Man For Trading On Merger Draft He Found

Law360, New York (July 20, 2011, 3:08 PM EDT) -- U.S. regulators sued a man in New York federal court on Tuesday for allegedly trading in Brink's Home Security stock after an investment banker accidentally left a copy of a draft merger agreement with Tyco International Inc. at the defendant's house.

A complaint filed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission claims Robert Doyle, 64, earned more than $88,000 by trading on inside information prior to Tyco's $2 billion takeover of Brink's in January 2010. Th suit contends Doyle, of Michigan, found out about the deal...
