Lawyer Accuses GE Of Pervasive Sex Bias

Law360, New York (June 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A high-ranking lawyer has hit General Electric Co. and its chairman with a $500 million lawsuit alleging a systemic, companywide policy of sex discrimination.

General counsel Lorene Schaefer, the top legal employee at GE's transportation division, is suing on behalf of over one thousand fellow female attorneys and executives she claims are treated like second-class citizens by the multinational conglomerate.
