GOP Questions Depth Of New Yucca Mountain Report

Law360, New York (July 22, 2011, 3:25 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission on Thursday released a report detailing post-shutdown safety conditions at the canceled Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump in Nevada, but House Republicans responded by calling for more information.

The 733-page Technical Evaluation Report was a replacement for the third volume in a series of Safety Evaluation Reports, prepared as part of the U.S. Department of Energy's permit application with the NRC.
