Ruling To Come Soon In YSL, Louboutin Trademark Fight

Law360, New York (July 22, 2011, 8:23 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Friday said he will rule as soon as possible on Christian Louboutin SA's request that he block rival Yves Saint Laurent America Inc. from selling high-heeled shoes with red soles, a Louboutin trademark.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero said at a hearing that he would reserve judgment on Louboutin's preliminary injunction request, the first major battle in the closely watched case over Louboutin's 2008 trademark on red outsoles on women's shoes.
