Ex-Credit Suisse Broker's $1B Fraud Case Sent To Brooklyn

Law360, New York (July 25, 2011, 9:55 PM EDT) -- Former Credit Suisse Group AG broker on Monday won the transfer of a wire fraud case from Manhattan to Brooklyn, where he will face the same judge who sentenced him to prison for allegedly swindling $1.1 billion from investors in a separate case in 2009.

U.S. District Judge Paul Gardephe granted Eric Butler's motion to move the case to Brooklyn in order to avoid what Butler's defense called a duplicative and unnecessary trial.
