House OKs Deadline For Keystone Pipeline Decision

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 8:06 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill Tuesday that would force the Obama administration to speed up its decision on whether to permit a proposed $13 billion pipeline that would transport Canadian oil to Gulf Coast refineries.

After a full afternoon of debate, the House voted 279-147 in favor of the North American-Made Energy Security Act, or H.R. 1938. Forty-seven Democrats joined all but three Republicans in voting for the legislation.
