Ace Says New York Life Fight Should Be Arbitrated

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 5:06 PM EDT) -- An Ace Ltd. subsidiary told a New York state judge Tuesday that its agreement to buy a Korean branch of a New York Life Insurance Co. affiliate was “crystal clear,” and any dispute over the $75 million purchase price belonged in arbitration.

Judge Shirley Kornreich told Paul S. Hessler of Linklaters LLP, which represents New York Life Enterprises LLC, that it wasn't clear that Ace Ina International Holdings Ltd.'s allegations were part of an arbitration provision in the October share purchase agreement for the Korean subsidiary....
