Kinder Morgan Settles DOL Suit Over Back Pay

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 5:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor said Tuesday that Kinder Morgan Inc. agreed to pay $830,000 in back wages to employees to settle a lawsuit in Texas federal court accusing the energy company of failing to pay overtime compensation to thousands of workers.

Under the agreement, Kinder Morgan and its subsidiary, Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP, will pay $830,422 in back wages to 4,659 employees in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, North Dakota and Texas.
