E&Y Tip Recipient Dodges Prison For Trading Scheme

Law360, New York (July 27, 2011, 7:42 PM EDT) -- A woman who allegedly ensnared a former Ernst & Young LLP partner and the chairman of Keystone Equities Group in an insider trading scheme surrounding corporate mergers was sentenced Wednesday in New York to six months of house arrest.

Donna Murdoch, 49, sighed with relief after U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum said she wouldn't be sentenced to prison, citing her cooperation with the government in the trial of former Ernst & Young tipster James Gansman as the primary reason.
