BP Claims Adjusters Denied Class In Wage Action

Law360, New York (July 28, 2011, 7:36 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Tuesday denied class certification to a group of claims adjusters alleging that a disaster claims company hired by BP PLC after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill breached an employment contract by paying them less than their agreed-upon wages.

U.S. District Judge Joseph C. Wilkinson Jr. said the plaintiff claims adjusters had failed to demonstrate that they would be able to carry the burden of leading a proposed class comprising more than 1,300 members in their suit against Worley Catastrophe Response LLC....
