Dems Push Contractor Political Donation Disclosures

Law360, New York (July 28, 2011, 5:09 PM EDT) -- House Democrats on Thursday urged President Barack Obama to sign an executive order that would require companies seeking government contracts to disclose political contributions, a plan Republicans fiercely oppose on the grounds that it would inject politics into contracting.

In a letter headlined by Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Calif., 62 Democrats urged to president to respond forcefully to Republican opposition and sign the executive order in the interests of transparency and accountability.
