Cyber Attack Exposes Data On 35M South Koreans

Law360, New York (July 28, 2011, 5:24 PM EDT) -- Hackers have reportedly accessed the personal information of about 35 million South Koreans following a cyber attack on SK Communications Co., which runs the country's largest social networking site and third-most visited Web search engine.

SK Communications said the names, phone numbers, email addresses, resident registration numbers and passwords of its online users had been compromised, according to The Korea Herald. The technology giant told the newspaper the cyber attack appeared to have stemmed from malicious code in China.
