Facebook Seeks Toss Of $1B Suit Over Intifada Page

Law360, New York (July 28, 2011, 6:53 PM EDT) -- Facebook Inc. on Thursday asked a Washington federal judge to dismiss a $1 billion lawsuit accusing the social networking giant of moving too slowly to remove a Facebook page calling for a third intifada against Israeli Jews, calling the suit a “publicity stunt.”

The lawsuit is "a waste of this court’s time and resources" that should be dismissed because the Communications Decency Act of 1996 keeps interactive computer service providers like Facebook off the hook for the speech of its third-party users.
