Watson, Sun Seek Attorneys' Fees From Novartis

Law360, New York (June 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge on Friday agreed to allow Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. to seek attorneys' fees in an infringement suit brought by Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. over patents for Exelon, the Swiss drug maker’s Alzheimer’s treatment.

U.S. Magistrate Judge James C. Francis IV of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted Watson and Sun leave to amend their counterclaims against Novartis to add a claim for attorneys’ fees with regards to one of the two patents-in-suit. The motion...
