Feds Blast Ex-Galleon Adviser's Fraud Retrial Bid

Law360, New York (August 1, 2011, 4:24 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors on Friday blasted a push in New York federal court for a new trial for a former Galleon Group LLC investment adviser convicted of helping to bribe former Ropes & Gray LLP lawyers for tips on deals, saying the request was wholly unfounded.

Prosecutors said they had presented sufficient evidence to convict Michael Kimelman of substantive securities fraud charges, despite his claims that the evidence resulted from inferences, not facts.
